IT Performance is generally a measurement of abilities to perform for all components individually and as a collective service delivery unit. The measurements are compared to known standards and modified as per a specific company requirement. i.e. one company may require sub second response time while another finds 2 seconds to be adequate.
Capacity planning is the ability to use the availability data to make intelligent decisions on present changes or future expansions to ensure the targets are met or exceeded. Linkage to Change and Problem Mgmt is essential.
